“I spend a lot of time doodling and playing with shapes and colours, usually in oil paint, but also with oil pastels, oil sticks and any other oil media that come to hand. I feel this is very important part of my journey as these experiments in texture, form, line and colour feed directly into my more formal work. Where the concept develops well I generate it into a completed artwork.”
